Immunization marathon with Sputnik V vaccine to be organized in Chisinau

Chisinau, 21 February / MOLDPRES /- Authorities in St. Petersburg, the Russian Federation, will donate Sputnik V vaccine to Chisinau.
Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said at today's meeting of the municipal services that the authorities from St. Petersburg will make a donation of several thousand doses of Sputnik V vaccine. "Most likely we will organize an immunization marathon with this serum," he said.
At the same time, Ceban said that during the discussions with Alexandru Rafila, Minister of Health in Romania, the Romanian side is ready to donate vaccines to Chisinau. "I thanked the Romanian authorities I met, including Minister Rafila, for the medical donations offered to the Republic of Moldova. I received assurances from the Minister that the Romanian side is ready to send Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to Chisinau, "he said.
The authorities of Chisinau aim to immunize 70% of the capital's inhabitants by March 31, a figure necessary to achieve collective immunity.
