Patrol agents to supervize security of over 100 crosswalks from Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - The leadership of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) today informed that it had started the operation titled, Pedestrians in Safety.

According to the quoted source, the security of over 660 crosswalks nationally and of about 100 in the Moldovan capital will be daily tightened.

The operation titled, Pedestrians in Safety, will daily be held during 7:30-8:30. Also, during activities of preventing traffic accidents with pedestrians’ involvement, police employees will organize working meetings with representatives of local public authorities, enterprises in charge of organization of the road transport of goods and passengers, as well as with the managers of education institutions.

Statistics data shows that 868 traffic accidents occurred in 2021, in the wake of which 88 people died and 806 were injured.
