Crew of ship under Moldova's banner hit by shell in Black Sea saved

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Naval Agency has informed that the members of the ship MILLENIAL SPIRIT under Moldova’s banner, hit by a shell in the neutral waters of the Black Sea, have been saved.

According to the quoted source, authorities of Ukraine carried out rescue operations; the crew members, all Russian citizens, were saved; two of them are in serious condition.

Today, the ship of the type Chemical Tanker, under Moldova’s banner, being in the Black Sea’s neutral waters (46°22.221’N, 031°07.095’E) was hit by a shell (the speed of the shell’s launch is unknown). A fire burst out onboard the ship; the rescue equipment and boats were destroyed, the crew left the ship only with rescue waistcoats.

The ship’s operator is a legal entity of Ukraine.
