Moldovan foreign affairs minister discusses with counterpart from the Netherlands

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a phone conversation with Foreign Affairs Minister of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra.

The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has told MOLDPRES that the officials had discussed subjects on the regional security, flows of refugees triggered by the war in Ukraine and the assistance provided to them.

„We appreciate the prompt answer of the authorities from the Netherlands through the providing of assistance worth 348,000 euros through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, which will help us strengthen the capacities of reception and accommodation of refugees from the neighbour country,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.

At the same time, the Moldovan diplomacy head expressed thanks for the firm support expressed by the Netherlands for Moldova’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
