Moldovan president has phone conversation with EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a phone conversation with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, the presidential press service has reported.

The officials spoke about the security situation in the region and the impact of the war from Ukraine for Moldova. They also discussed the measures undertaken by Moldova’s authorities to manage the flow of refugees who came as a result of the war from Ukraine, as well as about the ways the European Union can help us.

The head of state thanked the European official for the European support provided to Moldova. At the same time, the president asked for additional assistance, in order to cover the immediate needs of Moldova, triggered by the security crisis in continuation and to support the consolidation of the country’s economic resilience.
