Chisinau, 28 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- The energy systems of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine continue to operate in isolation. The tests on the isolation of the systems from 24-26 February were conducted without incident, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, announced yesterday.
"In this regard, we support the position of Ukraine to remain in isolated operation and to speed up the process of complete synchronous interconnection of the national energy system to the ENTSO-E Continental Europe network," the official wrote.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister informed the population "that the electricity system of the Republic of Moldova is operating normally, without incident."
On February 24-26, the power systems of Moldova and Ukraine operated together in isolation from other neighboring energy systems.
According to Andrei Spinu, the isolated operation during this period aims to demonstrate the ability of the energy system to operate safely, at normal parameters of frequency and voltage, and to react immediately to the variation of these parameters in winter operating conditions.
