Chisinau city hall official requests urgent purchase of medicines

Chisinau, 28 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- Chisinau's municipal health institutions have stocks of medicines for only one month.

Boris Gâlcă, head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health, requested in today's meeting of the City Hall services, which took place at the Center for Sorting and Emergency Placement of Refugees in Ukraine located at Moldexpo, that municipal health institutions have stocks of medicines only for a month and anticipated a possible drug crisis. "I ask the central authorities for the urgent procurement of medicines," Gâlcă said.

The official specified that most deliveries of medicines were made through the port of Odessa and that a possible worsening of the situation in the Odessa region of Ukraine could jeopardize the supply of medicines on this route.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration noted that the competent authorities in Kyiv reported that "there are no other impediments than the large ranks created by people taking refuge in Ukraine as a result of the armed conflict."
