90 percent of Ukrainian refugees benefited from help of local authorities in Chisinau

Chisinau, 28 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- Chisinau's municipal authorities are providing emergency aid for 90 percent of Ukraine's refugee flow.

Mayor Ion Ceban stated at today's meeting of the municipal services, which took place at the Center for Sorting and Emergency Placement of Refugees in Ukraine, created at Moldexpo, that 90 percent of all Ukrainian refugees benefit from the help provided by municipal authorities . "We have managed to adapt to the pressure of the flow of refugees from Ukraine. Thank you to all the municipal institutions for the mobilization ", said Ceban.

At the same time, the mayor stressed that the inhabitants of Chisinau, as well as private economic agents, showed "civic education and solidarity with Ukrainian refugees", getting involved in order to help municipal authorities in providing emergency aid to refugees.

According to the data presented at the meeting of the mayor's office services, at the Center for sorting and emergency placement of refugees in Ukraine from Moldexo, 654 refugees are currently placed, of which 243 are children.

In the last 24 hours, the Chisinau municipal authorities have provided assistance to 1,116 refugees, of whom 334 are children and 103 are over 60 years old.
