Over 1,000 foreigners asked for asylum in Moldova in recent days

Chisinau, 28 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- A number of 1,125 people have applied for asylum in the Republic of Moldova in recent days, half of whom are Ukrainian citizens. The announcement was made by IGSU chief Alexandru Oprea.
In the last 100 hours, over 69 thousand foreigners entered the territory of our country, out of which 67 thousand crossed the border on the segment with Ukraine.
The head of IGSU stated that at the moment all crossing points on the border with Ukraine are active, except for those located on the left bank of the Dniester. He added that in recent days, more than 7,000 MIA employees ensure order and security in the country, and about 3,600 are involved in the process of managing the flow of foreigners.
