Prosecutor General's Office, EIB signed memorandum of understanding

Chisinau, 28 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- The General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Moldova has announced that it has signed a Memorandum of understanding with the European Investment Bank (EIB), which aims to facilitate the exchange of information between the parties in the performance of their duties.

Under the document, the exchange of information between the contracting parties is to be carried out through measures taken to prevent, detect and solve cases of fraud, corruption, collusion, coercion, money laundering or terrorist financing, generically referred to as "fraudulent or non-compliant practices ”in connection with their international activities.

In this context, the Prosecutor General's Office and the EIB, through the Investigation Service of the EIB's Inspectorate-General, agreed to exchange relevant information as needed and in accordance with their duties, policies and procedures, in their investigations into fraudulent practices and related offenses.

Subsequently, the parties agreed to provide each other with technical assistance, including through the exchange of best practices and any technical information.
