Moldovan PM has phone conversation with Romanian counterpart

Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita has had a phone conversation with her Romanian counterpart, Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The two officials discussed the situation in the region, flows of refugees triggered by the war in Ukraine and coordination of the actions between Moldova and Romania, in order to meet the needs of the people forced to leave the neighbour country. In this respect, the officials appreciated the cooperation between the institutions involved in the easing of the traffic at the joint border.

Given the reconfirmation by Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca of the unconditional support to Moldova’s efforts in the management of the crisis and openness for providing the assistance necessary, including in order to provide essential resources to Moldova’s institutions involved in the humanitarian process, Natalia Gavrilita thanked the Romanian PM for the bilateral support and the one provided through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The two officials agreed on keeping in touch permanently in the joint effort of establishing the most adequate measures, depending on the evolution of the situation.
