Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ - The dialogue on the working platform of the political representatives in the process of negotiations for the Transnistrian settlement on behalf of Chisinau, Oleg Serebrian and Tiraspol, Vitaly Ignatyev, with the participation of participants in the 5+2 format of negotiations, continued at the headquarters of the OSCE Mission in Chisinau today, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

The sides stressed the complicated regional context and the need to mobilize the efforts, in order to provide the assistance needed for the refugees from Ukraine, who transit Moldova’s territory or rule to temporarily remain in the settlements from both banks of Dniester, with the concomitant generation of an ambiance of security. In the context, Oleg Serebrian emphasized Chisinau’s concern about the situation in the region and asked to avoid the public messages able to trigger artificial tensions.

At the same time, the participants in the discussions noted that, starting from 28 February 2022, Ukraine had ceased the work of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing points, placed on its central (Transnistrian) segment. Respectively, the introduction of goods is made only through the customs checkpoints effectively checked by Moldova’s Customs Service, with the observance of the rigours established in the normative framework in force.

Chisinau’s political representatives re-brought in focus the issue of farmers from the Dubasari district, insisting on the need to avoid the blocking of their access to the farmlands to the east from the Camenca-Tiraspol highway. Also, Oleg Serebrian re-tackled the subject of the headquarters for the Latin-script education institutions.

The chief negotiator on behalf of Tiraspol referred to the difficulties faced by some companies at the import of goods in the region. In reply, the Moldovan side specified that the procedures applicable as to them are fair and come from the rigours of the legislation in force, with the stages necessary for evaluating and authorization of import-export operations carried out due to be covered.

The political representatives reconfirmed the indispensability of maintaining the dialogue, including with the boosting of the interaction at the level of the sectoral working groups.
