Operational capacity of MoldExpo Refugee Center increased

Chisinau, March 1 / MOLDPRES /- The authorities have increased the operational capacity of the MoldExpo Refugee Sorting Center.

According to the mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, to the 610 temporary placement places at MoldExpo were added another 183 temporary accommodation places within the motorized infantry brigade "Stefan cel Mare" and 120 places arranged inside the restaurant "Holiday House" ”.

“At MoldExpo, the refugees are sorted, they are placed here for 24 hours, after which they are provided, on request, with accommodation in the places arranged by the municipality. We have identified 17 thousand accommodation places ", specified Ceban.

At the same time, the mayor announced that the local public authorities of the capital have given up the holding of several cultural events, which were part of the Martisor Festival. "This is not the best time to celebrate, we will focus our efforts on managing the situation regarding accommodation and aid for refugees," he said.

According to the data presented by the Ministry of Interior, between February 24 and 28, 69,581 citizens of Ukraine entered the territory of the Republic of Moldova. 67,317 people entered through the MD-UA border segment, and 1,949 entered through the MD-RO border segment.
