UEFA organized evacuation of foreign footballers from Ukraine

Chisinau, March 1 / MOLDPRES /- Moldovan Football Federation participated in the transit of foreign footballers registered at Dinamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk through the Republic of Moldova and their evacuation to Romania.

The president of FMF, Leonid Oleinicenco, welcomed yesterday, at the Criva border crossing point, several foreign footballers who, together with their families, took refuge in the Republic of Moldova to go on to Romania.

Latin American and European players were temporarily accommodated at the Vadul lui Vodă Federation base. FMF provided the refugees with food, medical assistance and transport to make the trip to Romania, from where they will go by air to their homes.

Brazilian Junior Moraes, registered with Shakhtar Donetsk, said the evacuation was organized by UEFA. "I thank UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin for organizing our evacuation from Kyiv. Also, I thank the Moldovan Football Federation, the one from Ukraine and Romania who worked together for us to get home ", he specified.
