Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with Georgian counterpart

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu today had a phone conversation with Foreign Affairs Minister of Georgia David Zalkaliani, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
The diplomats exchanged opinions on the regional situation, as well as on the new regional context emerged because of the security situation in Ukraine. At the same time, the sides reiterated the firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
„We condemned the war started by Russia, which represents a serious violation of the international law norms,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.
Also, the officials discussed Moldova’s and Georgia’s European aspirations and reaffirmed the firm commitment of the two countries on the way of reforms, in order to speed up the European integration process.
