Moldovan president says music of Eugen Doga able to make weapons silent

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today congratulated composer Eugen Doga on the 85th birthday anniversary. The head of state visited the master at home, finding him energetic and firm, the presidential press service has reported.
„On 1 March, Moldova has another holiday – the birthday of master Eugen Doga. I knocked at his door, to congratulate him on the 85th birthday anniversary, honouring an exceptional spirit and a talent of universal stature,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
The head of state and master Eugen Doga discussed the challenges of the present time, about Moldova, which the authorities want to create for the future generations and the so necessary peace for a prosperous future.
According to President Maia Sandu, the music of composer Eugen Doga unites hearts and makes the people better. ‘’Born on a day full of symbolism, when the music which he has been giving to people in over eight decades is knitted, like the Martisor, with hope, revival and our wish for peace, Eugen Doga means value and character, talent and civic position, power to face the difficulties and to reach the sun. He started his life coming from Mocra, beyond the Dniester river, to study music in Chisinau and his genius brought him to the biggest halls of the world,’’ the head of state said in her congratulatory message to master Eugen Doga.
President Maia Sandu thanked composer Eugen Doga for beauty, especially on these days, when the world’s beauty is more fragile than ever. ‘’They say that, when weapons speak, the muses are silent. Yet, the music of Eugen Doga is able to make the weapons to be silent. Peace to us everybody!’’ the Moldovan president’s message also reads.
