Presidents of Moldova, Turkey tackle situation in region by phone

Chisinau, 8 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu discussed by phone with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on 7 March evening, the presidential press service has reported.
The two heads of state referred to the security situation in the region and the management of a large number of refugees who had entered in Moldova. President Sandu stressed that the country needed international support urgently. In the context, Maia Sandu thanked the Ankara authorities for the humanitarian assistance in goods and food packages, sent to Moldova on 1 March.
The two leaders also discussed the bilateral agenda between Moldova and Turkey and namely the cooperation in the energy sector and in the commercial and economic ones.
