Italy fully supports European integration of Moldova

Chisinau, March 15 / MOLDPRES /- President Maia Sandu had a meeting today with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Luigi Di Maio, who is on a working visit to Chisinau. The discussion focused on security developments in the country and in the region, the major economic impact of the war in Ukraine on the Republic of Moldova and bilateral relations, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of Italian diplomacy mentioned that his country fully supports the European course of the Republic of Moldova. According to Minister Luigi Di Maio, the European future of our country is evidenced by the transformations started in the last year in the Republic of Moldova, but also by the exemplary way in which, in recent weeks, our authorities and citizens cope with the large flow of refugees from Ukraine offering shelter and safety.

Maia Sandu reaffirmed the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova and mentioned that, especially in this complicated period, our country needs support to be able to face the unprecedented crises and to continue the realization of its development plans.
