Moldovan president, foreign affairs minister of Spain discuss situation in region, bilateral agenda

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain José Manuel Albares Bueno, on a working visit to Chisinau. The discussion was focused on the security situation in the region, triggered by the war in Ukraine, its impact on Moldova and on the bilateral agenda, the presidential press service has reported.
The Spanish foreign affairs minister said his country supported Moldova’s European aspiration. President Maia Sandu said that, despite this difficult period, the authorities’ goal was to ensure the stability in Moldova and the citizens’ security. At the same time, the head of state stressed that, to be able to achieve the development goals set, the country relied including on the international support. President Maia Sandu also thanked for the humanitarian assistance provided by Spain to the refugees from Ukraine and which is to be brought to Chisinau this week.
