Dniester war veterans to get one-off allowance of 2,500 lei from state

Chisinau, March 17 / MOLDPRES /- Participants in the actions for the defense of the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova, as well as their family members, will benefit from a series of social support measures. A bill to that effect was passed today by a vote of 83 deputies.

Thus, the veterans of the Dniester war, their parents and widows will receive a one-time allowance of 2,500 lei. The bill also provides for the inclusion of the contribution period for the period of participation in military actions and the granting of the right to annual material assistance to both parents and widows of war veterans. Participants in the Dniester War will also be granted the right to a nominal allowance for special merits, regardless of age. 50 million lei from the state budget will be allocated for the entire package of measures.

Currently, in our country there are over 20 thousand veterans who fought and risked their lives for the independence and integrity of the Republic of Moldova.
