Joint Control Commission's weekly meeting postponed

Chisinau, March 17 / MOLDPRES /- Members of the Joint Control Commission returned to Bender today to continue talks on the situation in the Security Zone and the functioning of peacekeeping mechanisms, the Office for Reintegration Policy has reported.

The parties took note of the notification by the Ukrainian Embassy regarding the temporary withdrawal of military observers from the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in connection with the situation in Ukraine.

As Tiraspol's representatives in the Commission, contrary to the regulation and ignoring the previous constructive practice in similar cases, resumed their attempts to direct the work of the Joint Control Commission towards political disputes, the approval of the agenda failed.

After lengthy and contradictory discussions, at the proposal of the delegation of the Russian Federation, the meeting was postponed for a week.
