Moldovan president meets foreign affairs minister of Poland, OSCE Chairman-in-Office

Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 25 March met Foreign Affairs Minister of Poland, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Zbigniew Rau. The Polish official was on a working visit to Moldova, in the context of Poland taking over the Chairmanship-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on 1 January 2022, the presidential press service has reported.

The sides discussed the present security situation in the region, triggered by the war in Ukraine, the crisis caused by this war and the risks for Moldova, as well as the Transnistrian file. President Maia Sandu stressed the importance of the Transnistrian conflict’s peaceful settlement, by exclusively diplomatic means, which are to ensure Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and which is to result into a functional state. For his part, Zbigniew Rau expressed gratitude for the efforts of Moldova’s authorities and citizens to help the refugees from Ukraine.
