Moldovan foreign minister meets Norwegian ambassador

Chisinau, April 1 / MOLDPRES /- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway Siri Barry. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the security situation in the region and our country's management of refugee flows in Ukraine, the MAEIE press service has reported.

"I thank the Norwegian government for its support and willingness to relocate 2,500 refugees from Ukraine to Moldova, as well as for humanitarian assistance through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)," Popescu said.

At the same time, diplomats addressed issues related to Moldovan-Norwegian relations, Norwegian development assistance to the Republic of Moldova, the interest in intensifying trade and economic dialogue in the context of the Free Trade Agreement negotiations between Moldova and EFTA Member States, and energy security.
