Moldovan president meets group of MEPs

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu met today with a group of MEPs on a working visit to our country, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state spoke about the efforts of the authorities to respond to the security challenges created by the war in Ukraine. Maia Sandu reiterated the importance of greater opening of the European Union market for Moldovan producers who, due to the war, can no longer export to the East.

MEPs expressed their solidarity and gratitude for the efforts of our country's authorities and citizens in managing the large flow of refugees from Ukraine. They also mentioned that the European Parliament will identify new ways to support the Republic of Moldova in mitigating the consequences of these crises, as well as for the further implementation of democratic reforms and economic recovery.
