Over 100 hectares of dry vegetation destroyed by flames near Leuseni

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- Yesterday evening firemen extinguished an outbreak of dry vegetation in Leușeni, Hâncești district. The fire destroyed more than 100 hectares of vegetation.
According to IGSU data, the call to the 112 Service was received at 20:23. Two teams of firefighters were sent to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
IGSU employees managed to put out the dry vegetation fire at 00:42. No casualties were reported in the blaze, and the fire destroyed more than 100 hectares of land.
According to IGSU, in the last 24 hours the firefighters liquidated 210 outbreaks of dry vegetation, destroying 1,190 ha of land. Since the beginning of the year, more than 6,000 interventions have been registered in the liquidation of dry grass burning outbreaks, as a result of which 43,730 ha of land have been compromised by fire.
In the context of natural fire prevention, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations repeatedly warns the population about the risk of non-compliance with fire regulations in conditions of low humidity and wind. Burning fires can spread rapidly and turn into large fires, affecting forest areas, agricultural land, and the housing sector.
