Moldovan PM receives Ambassador of Australia

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today received Kiev-based Ambassador of Australia to Moldova Bruce Kevin Jeffrey Edwards. In the context of marking of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations, the sides referred to possibilities of boosting the Moldovan-Australian dialogue, as well as fostering the partnership, in order to support the sectors hit by the armed conflict from Ukraine, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The prime minister discussed the economic and social impact of the war. Gavrilita noted that the government counted, in continuation, on the support of the international community, including on behalf of Australia, for the management of the flow of refugees and identifying additional financial resources to overcome the crisis.
The PM also reiterated Moldova’s interest in the consolidation of the commercial and economic cooperation between the two states through the opening of the Australian market for the Moldovan products, as well as the boosting of the investment relations.
For his part, the ambassador of Australia said he spoke out for the fostering of the cooperation between the two states, noting that his country would back Moldova’s long-term development and would get involved in the authorities’ actions aimed at improving the citizens’ living standards.
