Moldovan fine artist displays works ate National Library

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition of painting and graphic titled, Paintings and jokes, by fine artist Aurel Gutu, at his 80th birthday anniversary, was inaugurated at the National library (BNRM) today.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Aurel Gutu said the exhibition comprised 38 painting and graphic works made during years. In the context, fine artist Valeriu Herta noted that all works by the painter represented a quite active contrast of colour, either it is about painting, book illustration or easel graphic, with the yellow culture predominating everywhere.
Aurel Gutu was born in the Corpaci village, northern Edinet district, on 12 March 1942. In 1967, he finished the I. Repin Republican Fine Arts School from Chisinau and in 1973 – All-Union State Institute of Cinematography from Moscow, scenography faculty. He worked as teacher at the I. Repin School in 1973-76 and artistic editor at the magazine Femeia Moldovei (Moldova’s Woman) during 1976-1990. He is author of illustrations of about 100 books. Aurel Gutu made portraits of more portraits. He is co-author of cartoon films.
The exhibition will be opened till 30 April.
