Two prosecutors, one physician to get on trial in Moldova

Chisinau, 5 April /MOLDPRES/ - Two prosecutors, including one with leadership office, and one head physician from the central Nisporeni town will be send to court for complicity in preparing an offence of interference with the carrying out of the criminal prosecution.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) today informed that it had sent to court a criminal file on charging two prosecutors, one with executory office from the Drochia district prosecutor’s office and another one with leadership office from the Nisporeni district prosecutor’s office, for complicity in preparing the offence of interference with the carrying out of the criminal prosecution, in order to get rid of criminal punishment one of the concerned prosecutors, documented for driving drunk a transport means.
The prosecutor of the Drochia prosecutor’s office is also charged with the committing of the offence of evading by the driver of a transport means of the alcohol testing, in order to establish the state of ebriety.
PA reiterates that, on 11 December 2021, a prosecutor of the Drochia prosecutor’s office was involved in a traffic accident while moving on a street from the Nisporeni district. During the documentation of the traffic accident, given that a suspicion persisted on the concerned prosecutor that he was driving drunk, biological blood samples were collected from him. Yet, this prosecutor called the deputy prosecutor of the Nisporeni district prosecutor’s office. For his part, the latter prompted one of the heads of section, who was on duty at the Nisporeni district hospital at that time, to collect biological samples from a person, which were to replace the blood samples initially taken from the prosecutor involved in the traffic accident, by unsealing the package where they were packed.
The actions of the concerned prosecutors were investigated by the inspection of prosecutors within disciplinary inquiries, through the light of committing a disciplinary infringement. Following the finishing of the verification of the notifications on the deed which can represent disciplinary infringement, the prosecutors’ inspection submitted the materials to the discipline and ethics college subordinated to the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP), where they are presently under consideration, with no decision issued on the cases notified.
At the same time, upon an approach by the acting Prosecutor General, CSP issued the agreement on the suspension of the Drochia prosecutor from office. Respectively, CSP has not yet given its opinion on the prosecutor from Nisporeni, with the concerned approach being postponed for the next meeting.
