Eleventh Meeting of Moldova-EU Parliamentary Association Committee to be held in Strasbourg

Chisinau, 5 April /MOLDPRES/ - The 11th Meeting of the Moldova-European Union Parliamentary Association Committee will take place in Strasbourg on 6-7 April.
The Moldovan parliament’s delegation will be made up of the co-head of the Moldova-EU Parliamentary Association Committee, Deputy Parliament Speaker Mihail Popsoi; the Committee’s deputy heads, the head of the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration, Doina Gherman, and the deputy head of the juridical commission for appointments and immunities, Vasile Bolea; the members of the Committee, the head of the juridical commission for appointments and immunities, Olesea Stamate, and the head of the commission for social protection, health and family, Dan Perciun.
The meeting will be held with the participation of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and of the Sub-committee on Security and Defence.
The main subject on the meeting’s agenda is focused on the challenges of regional security for Moldova, in the context of the Russian invasion in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis. The sides will also tackle the EU’s macro-financial assistance and the implementation of the plan on post-COVID-19 economic recovery for Moldova, as well as the energy security in Moldova, in the context of the situation in Ukraine.
Another important subject of the programme is the continuation of Moldova’s European integration. At the same time, the sides are to present an initiative on the deepening of the structural parliamentary cooperation on subjects of mutual interest.
