PM meets Moldovan diaspora in Berlin

Chisinau, April 6 / MOLDPRES /- Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița met last night in Berlin with Moldovans residing in Germany. The talks focused on the challenges facing our country in the context of the war in Ukraine and the actions taken by the Government to mitigate impact on the development of the Republic of Moldova, government's communication and protocol department has reported.

"Although we now have to deal with a major crisis - that of the Ukrainian refugees, and previously we were hit by other crises, we do not forget to make reforms at home to become more competitive and bring people back to Moldova," said Natalia Gavrilița.

The official referred to the efforts of the authorities to create new economic and investment opportunities, noting that the priority remains to support Moldovan producers, provide support for business development, as well as create attractive jobs for citizens. The government also remains engaged in the process of rural development, and recently the European Village project was launched, through which the town halls will be able to access the necessary funds for their localities. For this purpose, about 800 million lei are provided in the state budget.

The premier also noted that Moldova has been taken out of isolation, in terms of foreign policy. "Our partners are with us and this can be felt in all the aid that comes to the Republic of Moldova and in the increased funding provided to our country," she said.

Gavrilița approached the actions taken to ensure decent conditions for the citizens of the diaspora, mentioning the signing in Berlin of the declaration on the mutual recognition by the Republic of Moldova and Germany of driving licenses. At the same time, work is being done to make consular services cheaper and the possibility of transmitting documents through the MDelivery platform.
