President discussed with Rabbi of Habad Liubavich Community of Moldova

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu today met Zushe Abelsky, Rabbi of the Habad Liubavich Community of Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials commemorated the victims of the Jewish Pogrom which, 119 years ago, broke out in Chisinau, as well as those of the war being waged by Russia in Ukraine these days. They also expressed their hope in restoring peace.
Maia Sandu said that one of her priorities is to build a united and harmonious society in Moldova, in which each person feels safe and knows that their civil and individual rights are respected. The head of state also thanked the Habad Liubavich Community for its support in managing the flow of refugees from Ukraine, including humanitarian aid provided by the State of Israel through the Jewish community in the Republic of Moldova.
Rabbi Zushe Abelsky praised the involvement of Moldovan citizens in helping refugees and the generosity shown by the people.
