Moldovan president has meeting with Administrator of U.S. Agency for International Development

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today evening had a meeting with Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Samantha Power. The American official is on a working visit to Chisinau and the discussion was focused on the situation in Moldova and in the region, as well as the social and economic consequences of the war in Ukraine, the presidential press service has reported.

„We talked about the reception of Ukrainian refugees, the security situation in the region and the challenges faced by Moldova since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. Mrs. Samantha Power appreciated the Moldovan citizens’ efforts, in the context of the humanitarian crisis in the neighbour country and reconfirmed the support of the Government of the United States for the agenda of Moldova’s reformation,’’ President Maia Sandu said following the joint news conference.   

Also, the head of state noted the citizens of Moldova wanted to edify a competitive, innovating and resilient country, with the support of the development partners, and we need peace for this.
