Moldovan families hosting refugees from Ukraine can register online to benefit from financial assistance

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/ - The families from all over Moldova which host refugees from Ukraine and are eligible for one-off financial support worth 3,500 lei (190 dollars), provided from sources of the World Food Programme (WFP), as of 15 April will be able to register online in order to receive this assistance. The registration will be made on the platform www.uahelp.md, managed by the Labour and Social Protection Ministry.       

So far, the host families have had to appeal to the settlement’s mayoralty, in order to be registered.  

„The families which presently host at least two refugees from Ukraine for a period of at least one week are eligible for receiving the one-off payment. The goal of this assistance is to help the host families cope with the additional home costs for food and other essential needs,’’ the Labour and Social Protection Ministry said.

As many as 1,041 families which host refugees have benefited from one-off financial assistance on behalf of WFP till present.
