Nomination of candidates for new local elections started

Chisinau, April 19 / MOLDPRES /- The period for appointing candidates for mayor and councilor of the local council in the localities where new local elections will take place has begun.

The Central Electoral Commission has announced that, starting with April 18, the political parties can nominate their candidates to run in the local elections for ten elections to be held in ten localities on May 29, 2022.

According to the Central Electoral Authority, the direct submission of documents for the registration of candidates in the local elections takes place only after the establishment of the place and time of receipt of the documents by the constituency electoral councils. And the electoral agitation is admitted only after the registration of the electoral contestant by the electoral body.

The Central Electoral Commission has established, for May 29, the organization of new local elections in 10 localities. In the case of eight localities, the mayor is to be elected: Ghetlova commune, Orhei district; Horodiște commune, Rezina district; Zastânca village, Soroca district; Moara de Piatră village, Drochia district; Tătărești village, Straseni district; Glinjeni village, Falesti district; Zăicani village, Râșcani district and Hagimus village, Căușeni district, and in two other localities, Lozova commune, Strășeni district and Bobeica commune, Hâncești district, elections will be organized for the composition of the local councils.
