Chisinau, April 19 / MOLDPRES /- Symbols that promote military aggression will be banned in Moldova. President Maia Sandu announced today at a press briefing that she promulgated the document.
The president said that the new document does not confuse the citizens to commemorate the heroes who fought in the World War II. It will enter into force upon publication. "We know how high the price of peace has been. It is important to maintain a good understanding between people. That is why we cannot accept the symbols that support the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We must say no to war and its symbols. Messages that distort information about the war must be sanctioned. People have to be responsible, "said Sandu.
Under the document, making, sale and possession of symbols of military aggression is punishable by a fine of 4,500 to 9,000 lei or unpaid community service from 30 to 60 hours. Legal entities risk fines of up to 18,000 lei.
