Abut 2,000 children from Ukraine attend schools, kindergartens of Moldova

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) informs that 1,975 applications on the involvement of children from families of refugees of Ukraine have been submitted so far. A number of 698 of them are applications on admission to early education institutions and 1,277 – for education in primary school.
As many as 1,856 children have been integrated in general education institutions based on the applications submitted, of whom 1,254 - in schools and 602 in kindergartens.
According to MEC, 648 children attend primary schools, 551 were admitted to the gymnasium cycle and 55 ones – to lyceums at 229 education institutions from Moldova. The education is made in Romanian and Russian languages.
„Thus, 117 out of all pupils admitted to general education institutions study in Romanian and 1,137 – in Russian. A number of 602 children attend 257 pre-school education institutions,’’ the Education Ministry said.
