Moldovan central electoral commission accredits 24 national observers for new local elections

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC), at a today’s meeting, accredited 24 national observers on behalf of the Promo-LEX Association, for the monitoring of the new local elections due on 29 May 2022.
At the same time, the central electoral authority registered the Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists for participation in the 29 May local polls, as well as their electoral symbol.
Also, CEC gave more mandates of councilor in the commune and village councils from 16 settlements.
New local elections will be held in ten settlements of Moldova on 29 May. The mayor is to be elected in eight out of these settlements: Ghetlova commune, central Orhei district; Horodiste commune, northern Rezina district; Zastanca village, northern Soroca district; Moara de Piatra village, northern Drochia district; Tataresti village, central Straseni district; Glinjeni village, western Falesti district; Zaicani village, north-western Rascani district and Hagimus village, south-eastern Causeni district. At the same time, elections for the composition of the local councils will be organized in another two settlements: Lozova commune, Straseni district and Bobeica commune, central Hancesti district.
