Moldova marks State Flag Day

Chisinau, April 27 / MOLDPRES /- State Flag Day is celebrated in Moldova today.
State Flag Day was set up by the Chisinau Parliament on April 23, 2010. The tricolor was officially designated the state flag on April 27, 1990 by the deputies of the first Parliament, being hoisted on the same day on the building of the legislative forum.
In 2012, on the occasion of the State Flag Day of the Republic of Moldova, marked for the third time, in the Grand National Assembly Square in Chisinau, on a mast 30 meters high, a huge flag was hoisted, measuring 7 × 3 , 5 meters, in a solemn ceremony.
On the occasion of this holiday, cultural-educational activities are organized, book exhibitions referring to the history of the state and the evolution of the flags during the history of our state, thematic excursions dedicated to the State Flag Day.
The state flag of the Republic of Moldova is a major official symbol of the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova. The flag of the state is a rectangular canvas, with a ratio of the height and length of the canvas of 1: 2, equal vertical tripartite, starting from the spear in blue, yellow and red, and having in the middle of the yellow field the image of the State Coat of Arms of Moldova. whose width is 1/5 of the length of the flag.
