Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with Swedish counterpart

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a phone conversation with Foreign Affairs Minister of Sweden Ann Linde. The diplomats discussed the security state in the region, in the context of the war in Ukraine, as well as the last days’ incidents from the Transnistrian region of Moldova, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

The sides reiterated the firm support for Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity, within the internationally recognized borders.

„I thanked the Swedish counterpart for the support provided within the Moldova Support Platform, launched at the Donor Conference, recently held in Berlin,’’ the Moldovan diplomacy head noted.

The officials also tackled Moldova’s European agenda, in the context of the application on accession to EU and the procedure of filling in the European Commission’s questionnaire.
