Moldovan, Spanish foreign affairs ministers discuss situation in region

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a phone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation of Spain José Manuel Albares Bueno. The diplomats discussed the latest regional developments and the repercussions on the security situation of Moldova, including in the context of the recent incidents which took place in the country’s Transnistrian region, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
The officials tackled the subject on the management by the Moldovan authorities of the humanitarian crisis and assistance provided to refugees. Minister Nicu Popescu appreciated Spain’s offer to relocate Ukrainian refugees from Moldova.
„I thanked my counterpart for the solidarity of the Spanish authorities, as well as the firm support for Moldova’s territorial integrity,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.
The sides exchanged opinions on the possibility of boosting the cooperation in fields of common interest between the two countries, especially in the economic sector.
At the same time, the two diplomacy heads referred to Moldova’s European aspirations and the irreversible path of European integration, in the context of filling in the questionnaire.
