Moldovan president meets U.S. Senator

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met American Senator Steve Daines, a member of the Republican Party on behalf of the Montana state.

According to the presidential press service, the officials discussed the security situation in Moldova, the consequences of the war in Ukraine and the Moldovan-American bilateral agenda.

President Maia Sandu thanked for the support provided by the USA during time for strengthening the democracy and economy of Moldova, as well as for development projects.

For his part, Steve Daines appreciated Moldova’s commitment to provide assistance to the Ukrainian citizens who flee the war from Ukraine. The American official noted that the United States would further back the country’s transformation efforts.
