Moldovan president meets Romanian envoy

Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu today met Ambassador of Romania to Moldova Daniel Ionita on the occasion of the end of his term, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state expressed appreciation for the contribution of Ambassador Ioniță to the consolidation of Moldovan-Romanian relations and the Strategic Partnership between our countries, and for supporting the European integration and the modernization of the Republic of Moldova. Maia Sandu thanked him for promoting cultural projects in the country, as well as for the generous help offered by the Romanian authorities in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The officials discussed the immediate priorities of the Republic of Moldova and how Romania could continue to support us on democratization and development of the country. In this context, Ioniță confirmed Romania's support and commitment to the reform agenda of the Republic of Moldova.
