Moldova's national warehouse of vaccines endowed with modern equipment

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ - The national warehouse of vaccines has been endowed with modern equipment donated by the European Union and the World Health Organization (WHO). The event of presenting the devices took place in Chisinau today.
At the presentation, the head of the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), Nicolae Jelamschi, said the donation included: generators, refrigerator vehicles and cold storage rooms, freezers, IT equipment and apparatus for unloading vaccines. ‘’Also, within the project, a warehouse was renovated and more rooms meant for the employees were repaired,’’ Jelamschi said.
For her part, Health Minister Ala Nemerenco thanked the foreign partners for the support provided, noting that the quality medical services can be provided only with the help of advanced equipment. ‘’The vaccine provides us the needed protection against viruses, which was proved on the pandemic period too. They have severe standards of preservation; therefore, we thank for the modern equipment donated, which will allow their stocking and carriage,’’ Nemerenco also said.
At the same time, Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Jānis Mažeiks said the donation’s goal was to fully ensure the vaccination process and its efficiency. ‘’The support is meant to consolidate the health system of Moldova. We want to increase the capacity to quickly cope with emergencies in this sector, in order to be able to provide residents with qualitative medical services,’’ the official said.
The project’s value is of 776,000 euros, provided by the European Union.
