Moldova to benefit from EU financial assistance

Chisinau, May 25 / MOLDPRES /- The European Union will provide our country with macro-financial assistance worth 150 million euros. The European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration today approved the start of negotiations and the approval of the signing of a memorandum to this effect.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union provides for the provision of financial assistance in the amount of 150 million euros. Part of this amount will be offered in the form of a grant, and another - in the form of a loan.
The money will facilitate Moldova's economic recovery and will also be allocated to cover budgetary needs. Financial assistance will be available for two and a half years, starting on the first day after the entry into force of the Memorandum of Understanding.
On April 6, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted a decision providing for additional macro-financial assistance to the Republic of Moldova, in the context of the consequences of the invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
