Runoff of the new local elections to be held in three settlements of Moldova

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has established for 12 June 2022 the runoff of the new local elections for the election of the mayor in the Ghetlova commune, central Orhei district, Glinjeni village, Falesti district, and Zastanca village, northern Soroca district.

According to CEC, the registration of the two candidates on the ballot paper will be made in the descending order of the number of votes validly picked up in the first round of the polls.

At the same time, if one of the two candidates withdraws from the electoral race seven days before the election day at the latest, the ballot will be held with the candidate left and the next candidate who got the largest number of votes in the first round of the elections.

At the runoff, the voting will take place based on the same electoral lists used in the first round of the polls.
