Moldovan energy regulator adjusts regulated prices for natural gas

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Administrative Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), at a today evening meeting, approved the new regulated prices for the supply of natural gas by the Moldovagaz stock company, in the context of the public service duty.
According to the institution, ANRE’s decision is meant to implement the point 1 of the Instruction No 24 from 31 May 2022 of Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) and to adjust the prices in line with the methodology of calculation, approval and enforcement of the regulated prices for natural gas, approved under ANRE Decision, with the enforcement starting from 1 June 2022.
„When establishing the price of the natural gas, provided by the licence holder, decision-makers took into account the request by the Moldovagaz stock company and the following parameters: Increase in the average annual purchasing price for natural gas from 620 dollars/1,000 cubic metres up to 696 dollars/1,000 cubic metres; the quantum of the annual average consumer price index for 2022, in accordance with the forecast of the macroeconomic indicators, of 21.9 per cent; the tariff deficit recorded by the Moldovagaz stock company in 2021, etc.,’’ ANRE said.
Thus, ANRE approved the following regulated prices for natural gas (without value added tax (VAT)): entry prices in the natural gas transportation networks – 14,834 lei/1,000 cubic metres; exit prices from natural gas transportation networks – 15,063 lei/1,000 cubic metres; exit prices from the high-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 15,315 lei/1,000 cubic metres;exit prices from the medium-pressure natural gas distribution networks - 15,633 lei/1,000 cubic metres; exit prices from the low-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 17,244 lei/1,000 cubic metres.
As compared to the demand by the Moldovagaz stock company, ANRE diminished the costs on supply of natural gas to end consumers by 5,551.5 million lei or by about 5 lei/cubic metre.
