Moldovan government to monitor price developments on market

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - The government will closely monitor the price developments on the native market and will intervene if necessary. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita made statements to this effect at a news conference following the cabinet meeting today.    

The PM gave examples with the prices for sunflower oil, which stabilized and returned to the initial indexes, after the product had been introduced in the list of socially important goods.  

„We will make the needed analyses and will prevent the price increases following the speculative decisions by economic agents,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.

„I do not want at all to put the blame on the goodwill economic agents, which observe a sound competition environment and which are doing their businesses with respect for consumers and beneficiaries; yet, the dishonest economic agents will be stopped,’’ the prime minister added.
