Moldovan premier meets UNDP Regional director

Chisinau, June 2 / MOLDPRES /- Bilateral cooperation in justice, strengthening the energy system and issues on the implementation of a new UNDP Program in the Republic of Moldova - these were the topics discussed today in a meeting between Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and Director of the UNDP Regional Office for Europe and CIS Mirjana Špoljarić Egger, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Gavrilita thanked Mirjana Špoljarić Egger for assistance to our country through several projects in human rights, promoting gender equality, local and regional development, digital transformation, supporting small and medium-sized businesses etc.
At the same time, the new Moldova - UNDP Country Program for 2023-2027 is in the process of finalization. The document provides for a number of projects, aimed at developing renewable energy sources, good governance, measures to respond to climate change, etc.
Mirjana Špoljarić Egger appreciated the partnership with the Government in the implementation of the National Program on growth poles in Moldova for 2021-2027, by piloting the integrated regional development approaches in Cahul and Ungheni. UNDP has announced readiness to extend the approaches to other regions.
