Japan to support Moldova for cyber resilience

Chisinau, June 2 / MOLDPRES /- Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has expressed readiness to support the strengthening of the cyber resilience of the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service (STISC) in order to increase the level of cyber security of government information systems, a press release of the institution reads.

Deputy Prime Minister for Digitization Iurie Turcanu and director of the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service Gheorghe Pantaz discussed the intensification of cooperation in this regard during an official meeting with director of the JICA office in Ukraine Satoshi Sugimoto. The foreign official is responsible for the activities of the Japanese agency in our country and is currently on a working visit to Chisinau in order to discuss the opportunities for financing development projects next year.

The main topics addressed by the parties were the support needed to increase STISC capabilities and cooperation opportunities in 2023 training programs.

The head of STISC said that in order to strengthen resilience to cyber attacks, it is important to exchange experience, knowledge and good practices, training and developing the professional skills of specialists, as well as creating successful partnerships.

JICA representatives welcomed the intention of the Moldovan authorities to continue cooperation in development projects and expressed their readiness to expand their areas of cooperation.
