Over 60 thousand tons of apples exported from Moldova in April-May

Chisinau, June 3 / MOLDPRES /- In April-May, Moldovan producers managed to export over 63 thousand tons of apples. In the same period last year, 39 thousand tons of apples were exported, the Moldova Fruit Association has reported.

"The fruits have reached Romania, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Iraq, the Russian Federation, etc. Exports to Romania increased. If in April-May 2021 60 tons of apples were sold to this destination, in the same period of this year more than 4700 tons were sold ", indicates Moldova Fruct.

According to the quoted source, there is a clear trend of diversification of apple markets. "If in 2021 the fruits were sold to four destinations, in the spring of 2022 apples reached consumers in 18 countries," reads a statement from the association.
